Jim Michalek joined CSD in 1981. He was promoted to Associate in 1985, Senior Associate in 1989, and Principal in 2003. Jim has specialized in heavy industrial projects, primarily steel mill renovations involving both superstructure and foundation design. Additional experience includes commercial skylights using aluminum, rack supported buildings, power plant renovations, the design of specialty structures for large environmental ductwork, process piping supports and equipment supports with and without vibration characteristics. He has conducted numerous analyses requiring three dimensional computer modeling of complex structures in addition to finite element analysis.
