
Tom Getschman joined CSD in 2000. He was promoted to Associate in 2006, Senior Associate in 2011, and Principal in 2016. Tom has worked primarily on structural steel erection engineering, construction engineering, lifting and rigging design, rack supported structure design, industrial crane building design, and structural steel connection design. He was previously a lecturer at Milwaukee Area Technical College – School of Technology and Applied Science from 2007 to 2009. He also presented at NASCC in 2017 on Complex Erection Bracing, and has presented this Engineering Case Study at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee since 2011. He received an award from The Daily Reporter, Top Projects of 2010, for his work on the Grand Opera House Renovation in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and is a published author in Modern Steel Construction.
Tom enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, and hiking with his wife and kids. He is also involved in community youth athletics with Cedar Grove Belgium Athletic Association as a coach and volunteer. He is presently serving on the Village of Cedar Grove Board of Trustees since 2011.
