CSD Structural Engineers recently completed the third galvanizing pot addition at Steel Dynamics’ Columbus, Mississippi facility, enhancing the operational efficiency of their galvanizing line. The project required strategic demolition and expansion of the existing maintenance bay to address space constraints identified during facility operations.

Working as Engineer of Record, CSD provided comprehensive structural engineering for the maintenance bay expansion, galvanizing pot crane modifications, and the addition of a new transfer car system. This project demonstrates our ability to adapt existing designs to meet evolving operational needs while maintaining structural integrity throughout the facility’s continued production.
