CSD Provides Connection Design in Partnership on Manhattan Highrise

Oct 7, 2021 | Featured

The 66 Hudson Boulevard project involved a unique partnership in which CSD provided delegated structural steel connection design working directly with WSP as structural engineer of record. This type of partnership is less common in the industry today but provides several benefits, including the ability to coordinate design forces and changes between engineering teams quickly. This helps to ensure that designs are finalized before they move into detailing and fabrication. Coordination with the fabricator, Banker Steel, and erector, NYC Constructors, LLC, was also prioritized so that connection designs incorporated fabrication preferences and erectability concerns.
